Hellooooo my lovelies, and welcome back to Freddy My Love, the fair-weather fashion blog :') and that is officially what I've decided it is. I've realised reading and writing about beauty products totally bores me! I love using them of course, and watching them in action on Youtube and Instagram, but they don't inspire me anywhere near as much as the perfect outfit. I'm sure there will be a beauty post on here occasionally, but first and foremost I want to focus on documenting my personal style. And now Spring has almost sprung (I feel like we're still in the Spring-ing process currently), my inspiration is flying off the handle. Finally, every where I turn, every rail I see (I totally sung that in my head Moana style) is filled with white and pastel hues. Finally, we are moving out from under that dark cloud I call Winter. Those six months of the year where the amount of black and lack of pink just depresses me. The six months of the year where my style is suppressed! Of course I still always make the best of it, (this usually entails risking hypothermia everytime I walk out of the door due to lack of warm layers), but it is soooo much easier and more fun when there is so much more choice and my preference of colour and style is actually weather appropriate. Sadly, it's also the time of year I pretty much lose all sense of self control; my love for Spring hues and lace details heavily outweigh my powers of restraint. Anyway, I wanted to share with you my favourite new Spring additions to my wardrobe, and of course by now you'll have noticed the beauty that is my coat...
I bought this coat at the end of January, so deffo pre-Spring, but it did serve me pretty well as a Winter coat. It's not the warmest, but you know me- never one to let a silly thing like warmth hold me back! But it certainly seems more suitable as a Spring coat- bearing in mind our Spring here in England is still pur-etty chilly. I picked this darlingggg trench coat up in Abercrombie & Fitch, after lots of comments from my Youtube viewers. I did a fabulous video with my ten year old sister, where we chose an outfit for each other. I bought her the absolute cutest pink mac from Abercrombie Kids, and commented on how I was yet to find the perfect one for myself. I had lots of comments telling me I could find one similar to Coco's on adult A&F! So naturally I went straight there! I love Abercrombie, but I must admit I would never have thought to look there for a coat like this. But I fell in love instantly, and bought it just in time for my trip to Paris. I'm not exaggerating when I say I'd rather not go to Paris, than go to Paris dressed badly. Okay, maybe a slight exaggeration. But it is super important to me to always feel my best and chic-est (new word; I'm thinking I need a Freddy dictionary section to this blog as I make up so many words) at the best of times, let alone when in Paris! But this coat made me feel absolutely perfect, and it does every time I wear it. Do you want to know my new motto? Life is too short to wear black. And do you know what is really a fabulous feeling? Walking down a busy street wearing a pink coat in a sea of black.
Now, if you watch me on my youtube channel, you'll know all about this bag. I treated myself to this just before Christmas. After a year of hard work and a few pretty good achievements, I decided to buy myself my first "grown up" present. This was pretty much the first time I've splurged so much on one single thing (apart from my car!) but it was so so worth it. I've wanted a Louis Vuitton forever; it was the first designer I ever really took notice of as a young teenager and developed serious heart eyes for. So buying this was a pretty big deal to me and a bit of a dream come true! I'd known for a while this was the style of bag I wanted to get; something that would be an every day bag, and be convenient as well as gorgeous. The Neverfull in the MM (medium) size was perfect, especially when I saw they now make it with Rose Ballerine interior. This really was the perfect bag; I'm in love with the classic and iconic Damier Ebene canvas, and the baby pink interior gives it the ultimate Freddy flair! It's been such a great every day bag and really lives up to its name- you can carry so much inside it. The straps are the perfect length for carrying it both over the shoulder, and in the crook of your arm, and the canvas material is almost invincible, so it's pretty much guaranteed to stay in fantastic condition for a really long time. I couldn't be happier with this beautiful bag, I'm so in love with it and I still get a thrill every time I pick it up! I would absolutely buy it all over again, which is actually quite worrying as, like everyone said I would, I feel like I've caught the Louis Vuitton bug...
Okay, so now for accessories, and I'm quite relieved to finally talk about them in detail as I've been getting so many questions lately about my signature jewellery pieces. First, this beautiful pink crystal ring from Pandora. I got this at the end of January, and I'm not exaggerating when I say I've worn it every day since, and I'm not particularly a ring person! I adore the simplicity and elegance of this ring. It's so dainty and sweet, and although it's very understated, I still feel like it stands out. The delicate pink crystal is almost iridescent and it's just so blooming pretty. And then of course, the necklace. The necklace. The piece of jewellery I had coveted for months and months, and after the sometimes perhaps not so subtle dropping of occasional hints, my wonderful boyfriend bought it for me for Christmas. I got my first Tiffany necklace for my 18th birthday, and again, pretty much wore it every day. I'm sure you'll all have seen my Return to Tiffany mini double heart pendant, with the pink enamel. But after four years, I was totally ready for a change, and my teenage fantasy was always wearing a big Tiffany pendant from my loved one. And like the bag, I still get a thrill every day I put this on. The classic and instantly recognisable Return to Tiffany tag is the love of my life, and with the added touch of rose gold in the key, it just pushes it past perfection! Again, it's so simple and elegant, and looks perfect with everything I wear. Oh I could go on and on all day about how much I love this! And with the sweet message engraved at the back, it means so much to me sentimentally as well.
OH THE BOOTS. These boots have been my everything for the past few months. I can't tell you how long I spent searching and scouring for the perfect pair of pale grey over the knee boots, that would actually fit my legs properly and stay slim. This search turned out to be a lot harder than I expected, with the majority of boots either not being that gorgeous shade of grey I was obsessed with, or mostly just sitting really baggily and ugly on my leg! I tried on so many pairs, and one day (the week before THE Paris trip), I ordered 7 pairs of boots online at once! And these ASOS beauties were the only ones that fit the bill. The only others I've seen that looked perfect, are the Stuart Weitzman boots, but at a super hefty price tag they were not ideal. These boots cost an absolute fraction of the Weitzman's, and although I couldn't say they were just as nice, I'd say they were actually pretty close and definitely the closest I could get on the high street, and without spending hundreds of pounds. They are the perfect shade of grey, and over the knee boots have just become on of my style staples. They utterly transform an outfit, instantly making the simplest of outfit look fabulously on trend and chic. They are the ultimate Winter to Spring transition piece, and definitely a key item to add to your wardrobe for the next few months. These actually have a gold detail heel, which I wasn't keen on at first but they've actually really grown on me, and now I love how they have something a little different and statement about them. The heel height is also great, (yes, I'm realising as I'm writing this how I really didn't capture the best picture of the boots!) as they are high enough to still feel elevated and sophisticated, but not too high so I feel too tall or can't walk comfortably. And in terms of comfort, I rate them pretty highly, although I wouldn't recommend going for a hike!
So let's remove the coat, (hold the tears), and see what's underneath. I've been looking for a gorgeous every day grey skirt for a while now, and the struggle is real. Well, when you're a big old fusspot like me, that is! And I've come very close with this E.F.L.A peplum hem skirt. My checklist for the perfect everyday skirt; high waisted, structured and feminine. Check, check, check! Admittedly for the femininity, I would almost always rather a skater style skirt, but I really couldn't find a decent quality one. Although I thought the peplum hem totally checked the feminine box, and the structured style is very chic. Smart casual, as you know I love, and just a really cute, classy skirt that gives an outfit a very polished feel. And the top I've paired this with, is this beautiful white lace blouse, with the gorgeous bell sleeve detail, which I must say, is my number one favourite Spring trend. If something has bell sleeves, it's appeal is instantly increased! This blouse is so simple and pretty, and just embodies Spring! It's so easy to wear, and looks so cute even with just a pair of pale or coloured jeans, or tucked into a skirt like I'm wearing it.
That's it from me for now! Hope you enjoyed the outfit post and as always you can shop the post directly below! I love sharing my style with you and now Spring is here and the clothes are better, and shooting outside isn't so painful, there will be many more to come!
Lots of love,
