Tis the season to be beautiful

I LOVE the Christmas party season. It's the perfect time of the year to get your red lipstick and sparkles out. Christmas parties can often be the biggest events of the year, and pictures last a lifetime, so it is crucial in my opinion to find the perfect party dress.

My go to, one stop shop of choice this year is Jones and Jones. I loved this brand a few years ago but kind of forgot about it until recently, and I was truly spoilt for choice choosing a few dresses to feature in this post! I just love their really distinctive glamorous, ultra feminine style. They really are for the girly girl, and the fifties/sixties essence in the design makes them my ultimate dress obsession (obdression?). These dresses are timeless classics, and could easily be brought out year after year to dazzle during the festive seasons.

This first dress, the Terri Burgundy and Gold Sequin Dress, was my actual choice of dress for the Gleam Christmas party this year, and it really was a crowd pleaser. With the totally gold sequinned top half, and the beautiful wine burgundy satin skirt, this has to be the absolute be all and end all of Christmas dresses! Not to mention the incredible open back, the full fit and flare pleated skirt, and the one of a kind bow detail at the back. It is perfection in a dress!

Next I have these two beauties. Firstly, the Jessie Red Lace Dress is an absolute classic stunner. Sexy, fun and flirty with a gorgeous sweet heart neckline and all over lace detail, this dress does no wrong. Slightly more subdued than the stand out Terri dress, it's the perfect party dress that will draw attention, without looking like you're attending the Met gala! As is the final dress, the Audrey Berry Dress

This dress stuns in it's simplicity, and with it's high lace neckline and full skater skirt, you couldn't look more festively party perfect. I adore the full defined pleats, and the mesh underskirt- so classically feminine but still so young, fun and flirty. Paired with your favourite red lipstick, you will look like a little Christmas doll.

I hope you loved my Christmas party picks- if you did, Jones&Jones have kindly given me a discount code to share with my readers! Visit www.jonesandjonesfashion.com and enter FREDDY20 at checkout to receive 20% off any dresses!

Love as always,
Freddy x

Christmas girly gift guide

Happy December! I love the festive season- there's just such a happy buzz hanging in the air that's impossibly infectious. And I just love Christmas shopping. Not so much the actual shopping part- but the excitement to watch my family open their presents from me on Christmas day. But sometimes the endless searching and stress of finding the perfect gift can take away from the enjoyment. Also, it's easy to get stuck with what to pop on your OWN Christmas list! I always find that there's so many things I lust after during the year then when it comes to making my Christmas list, I can't think of a single thing! So I've put together this gift guide with some gorgeous gifts at all different price points to give you some ideas and inspiration. Just click the pink links to shop! Please do share this post if you liked it, it would really help me :)

Boux Avenue is such a gorgeous shop, with some beautiful gifts at an affordable price. This white chiffon candle has the most incredible, fresh, sexy smell and has a really sophisticated (and instagrammable!) design, similar to Jo Malone but no where near as expensive at £10. The pink, satin sleep mask is a piece of perfection with the pretty frill and the way it ties in a bow at the back- a really stunning, unique little gift for also £10. Then finally, this pretty pink and white striped sleep shirt is a lovely present at £26, as everyone loves to receive nightwear at Christmas, and this is similar to the Victoria's Secret nightwear but not at such a cost.

Next, a more luxury gift at £159, the perfect "main" present, and also quite a romantic one- they also do versions of this for men if you're buying for a boyfriend. This rose gold Thomas Sabo "Love Bridge" bracelet is so beautiful, with it's delicate, dainty design and teeny diamante features, and also comes with complimentary engraving to make it extra special.

Another gift on the luxury side, is the Dior Miss Dior perfume. This is one of my favourite frangrances and the bottle is to die for. Perfect for the girl that puts her perfumes on display like me! There is something so elegant and timeless about the fragrance, but still really young and fresh- it's absolutely divine and a present any girl would be delighted to receive.

Now I've got a few lower-priced items to make perfect stocking fillers, secret santa gifts, or little presents if you want to show someone you thought of them, but don't have much Christmas budget. The first is this lovely pink leathery passport case, which can be found on Amazon for only £1.60! Next, the classic Christmas favourite, the Magic Wand Bubble Bar from Lush. This smells incredible, and is such a cute, pretty little gift at £5.25. Then finally, my favourite, this adorable dusky pink pom pom bag charm from Accessorise. These are very, very in right now, and look amazing clipped onto a handbag. A lovely little present for £7!

Now for the next gift, which is my new discovery and I'm very excited about! This incredible makeup brush set was sent to my PO Box by the new UK brand Fierce Face. Before I even opened the case I knew I would love it by the white leather and rose gold writing. And the brushes don't disappoint as you can see. A full set of brushes priced at £69, so really reasonable for what feel like really good quality brushes in a gorgeous carry case. It really is the perfect gift for the makeup lover, and very photogenic for blog posts and instagram which is always a bonus!

Next, an all time favourite. It is of course, a Yankee Candle. IMO no gift guide would be complete without one. Long lasting, powerfully scented, in it's classic iconic jar, the Yankee Candle is always a winner. This is my absolute favourite smell- Fireside Treats. There's nothing nicer than being in a room that smells of toasted marshmallows! At £22 for a large jar, and £18 for a medium jar, they are not the cheapest of candles, but still far more affordable than the likes of Jo Malone and Diptyque, and just as lovely a gift.

Here I have a couple of products from the brand Skinny Dip, which is a super cool brand stocked in Topshop and Selfridges, and also their own online store. They have so many cute, quirky accessories which all make fab presents, but these two were my favourite. The first, their classic glitter iPhone cases, reminiscent of those nineties toys where you tip it upside down and the glitter slowly falls. Paired with pastel coloured unicorns, what more could you ask for? Then, these gorgeous headphones which are a bloggers dream with the pretty white and gold design. The best thing about these however, is they are designed by the poorly children at Great Ormond Street Hospital, and 100% of the profits made from the headphones are donated to the GOSH fund. If you can buy a loved one a present, and donate to an amazing worthy cause at the same time, it is a real gift. They are £30, and the phone case is £18.

Now for the beauty lovers, I've chosen a few gift sets. The first is the Benefit "Real Cheeky Party" set, which has 8 miniature sized products in, including some of my all time FAVOURITE Benefit products such as the Watts Up highlight, Dandelion and Rocketeur blushes, and the They're Real mascara. At £25.50 it's a steal! Then there's the Ted Baker Sparkle and Shade set, which can be bought from boots for £18 on 3 for 2. Including a blush brush, a blush and highlight compact, and two liquid illuminators it's a gorgeous gift for the girl that loves to highlight and strobe! Then finally this cute little Essie nail polish duo, which is an adorable little present at £12.99.

This is something I have lusted after for a while and is one of the most perfect Christmas gifts I can think of! The amazing Kate Spade 2016 agenda. Again, a bloggers actual DREAM! The classic Kate Spade design is sublime as always, and the inside is so pretty and well laid out. I couldn't live without a planner, so if you know someone like me who loves to get organised- or someone who NEEDS to!- this is an ideal gift at £30. (They also do a medium size for £25).

And FINALLY I have the bag of the year! This Topshop beauty is perfectly similar to the IT bag of LIFE- the Chloe "Drew" bag- without looking like a fake or a copy. Looking SO much more expensive than it's small £30 price tag, it's the present of dreams for the fashion girls. Simple, sophisticated and outrageously stylish, any girls heart would skip a beat opening this up on Christmas day.

I hope you loved my gift guide as much as I loved putting it together! You can click on any of the links in my writing above to be taken to the websites if you want to shop, and if not I hope I've at least given you a little inspiration if you were stuck for gift ideas, or even what to ask for yourself. Feel free to share this post on twitter/facebook etc to give subtle hints to people who are buying pressies for you ;)

Lot's of love as always,
Freds

Cable knits and flounce

I LOVE styling winter outfits. I feel like people think they can't be as creative in Winter as in Summer but it's not true- styling winter clothes is so much fun. I pretty much keep to the exact same style- just adapt it to the cold, and add really cute wintery touches. Such as cable knits! I absolutely love jumpers and sweaters, and it's one thing I really miss in the warm months and look forward to as it gets chillier. And I have a particular soft spot for cable knit- especially cream. It's a bit offensive how many cream cable knits I have, but this new one is a new favourite. I said to myself at the beginning of this Winter that I wanted to have a cute essence of sixties style, and I am just adoring these high neck short sleeve jumpers. Even without arms they are so warm and cosy, and look incredible stylish but still really cute.

And now, this skirt is the actual new love of my LIFE. I have had it for about a month and already worn it to death. It is the most wearable skirt, that goes with absolutely everything. It was forty pounds from Zara, which is on the expensive side for a skirt, but when you feel the weight and quality of the material, you can excuse the price as it actually looks and feel much more expensive than that, especially with it's very "tailored" look. It is a woollen skater style, with amazingly defined wide pleats. I love a skirt to stick out but don't want to look like I'm wearing a tutu, and this skirt has the perfect amount of flounce. I saw this skirt a couple of months ago and didn't buy it, and I couldn't stop thinking about it. My motto is- if you can't stop thinking about it, buy it- and when I saw it on Up Close and Stylish's instagram I knew it had to be mine! (I love her.)

I totally adore this jumper and skirt combination. It's effortlessly chic and completely wearable without a hint of laziness, and the perfect balance if like me, you don't want to completely succumb to the English Winter standard boring style, but still want to embrace the certain lovely elements of Winter fashion. I've paired the outfit with my Carvela pale blue cross body bag, and although this outfit would look just as good with a more Winter appropriate colour, I still love to add a pop of pastel just to stay true to my own light bright style!

As always, you can shop the post below, excluding the Carvela as I think it must be out of stock, but I've found a beauuuuuut Michael Kors alternative (it's hard to find pale blue crossbodys in Winter!) and the Zara skirt which you can find by clicking here. I really hope you are enjoying my new content and I'm inspiring you to embrace Winter fashion :)

The cinderella dress

Me, Lucy and Lydia at the W Hotel after party

On Sunday night, I had the absolute honour of walking the red carpet at Joe Sugg and Caspar Lee's Hit The Road premiere. It was such a fun, magical night and so exciting for me as it was my first time on the red carpet. It's incredible how far youtube has come and I was so happy and proud to be part of it.

I've had a lot of tweets, and instagram/video comments asking about my dress and makeup on the night. I felt like an absolute princess in my dress so I really wanted to share it with you and write a blog post. My dress was a silver grey, open back, embroidered, floor length beauty from Chi Chi London. It was absolutely freezing but little did everyone know I was wearing woollen leggings underneath!  I adore the gorgeous open back, the stunning floral embroidery and the pretty semi sheer sleeves. I felt like a cross between Cinderella and Elsa, and it really is the perfect winter "dressy" dress. The glimpse of shoes you can see are some silver sparkly court shoes from New Look, which I chose because I find New Look shoes so comfortable and they have really decent heel heights- still high heels but not crazy sky high.

My bag of choice was this absolutely gorgeous pale blue mini cross body bag by Carvela. It was the perfect colour to compliment the subtle icy blue tones in the dress, and also the perfect size, small enough to be a party bag, but still big enough to fit in my iPhone 6 plus and all the makeup I needed for touchups. Sadly I can't seem to find this online anymore which means it must be out of stock, but I've found a very similar Michael Kors one that I've linked at the bottom.

Speaking of makeup, I had an appointment booked at the Charlotte Tilbury counter in Selfridges to have my makeup done, but unfortunately as I had to wait for the dress to be delivered, I had to cancel the appointment. However, I was so happy with my makeup that I did myself, and it stayed on all night with not much need for touch ups apart from lipstick.

For my base I used the YSL Touche Ã‰clat foundation, which gives the most beautiful dewy glow to the skin, but still has an amazing coverage. This is actually a press sample of the new  re-formulated product which is out early next year, and it's amazing as they've kept the dewiness but increased the coverage. I'm massively getting into strobing, and I'm obsessive about my highlighter. The highlighter I used is my current favourite- Benefit Watts Up. It honestly gives you the most stunning champagne glow. I topped this up with my Cinderella Coupe d'Chic iridescent powder for an extra bit of sparkle, and I also dusted this over my eyelids. Finally I used my YSL Rouge Volupte lipstick in the shade nude beige, which is actually much more pale pink that sounds, and this lipstick is one of my favourites as it has the most creamy, moisturising feel but stays put all night. And I don't even need to mention the packaging, you have eyes.

And finally I doused myself in YSL's (I am not sponsored by the way, just developing a deep, deep love) Black Opium eau de toilette. This perfume is my new obsession. It is the perfect combination of fresh and sexy, and is incredibly sophisticated but still with a very youthful feel. It was the perfect fragrance for the night, and to match my outfit.

I wish I could re live the night- if not just to wear this magical dress again! You can find links to all the products just underneath. Thank you for all your tweets on the night, you made me so so happy and really boosted my confidence.

All my love,

Freddy x

The perfect pink winter coat

It's a well known fact that my favourite colour is pink. In my mind you need a mental heath check if your favourite colour ISN'T pink, but that may be going too far. In shops my eyes are always drawn to the pink and pastel hues, and although I do love and appreciate dark colours in Winter (there's nothing more sexy and sophisticated than a head to toe black on black ensemble), I hate to see the pale, pastel colours filtering out as the weather gets darker and colder, because it absolutely doesn't need to happen. Pastels look amazing in the Winter! I love it when I'm walking through London amongst dreary crowds of people who look like they've stepped through a greyscale filter, and I see a pop of bright white or pale blue. It's so refreshing and they immediately stand out! And I always feel more special and princessy when I'm wearing light colours in Winter- I feel like a Christmas snow fairy or like I'm in St Petersburg going to the watch the Russian ballet perform The Nutcracker... Ok so I sometimes get a little carried away.

So, how to incorporate the magic colour into your Winter wardrobe. Well, obviously (in the UK at least), most of our time spent outside the house, and therefore spent out of pyjamas, is spent in a coat, so if you can find the perfect Winter coat, you can put it over absolutely anything and you will always look fabulous. I like to update my coats every year to always feel fresh and on trend, and I don't mind investing in nice ones either, as like I said, I spend so much time in them. And, every year, a pink coat becomes a winter staple, so naturally this year I was on the hunt for my perfect pink winter coat.

And I found it in this amazing Miss Selfridge beauty. The baby shade of pink is just perfect, and the soft white faux fur collar gives it that festive touch that I just love. It has a gorgeous wool feel, and is perfectly fitted, with the sleeves ending just before my wrist- which is probably down to me having long arms but I love it none the less- and the little pink buttons and fake pockets are perfect little details. Worn over black tights and Chelsea boots, this coat gives you that perfect, pretty, "put together" look, without really having made much effort at all. It's all in the coat!

Priced at a modest £69, this coat is a real style steal. And if pink isn't exactly for you (are you okay???) they also make it in the prettiest pale blue, a gorgeous burgundy, AND if you absolutely must, a classic black. You can shop the coat below, or if this one wasn't for you but you still love the idea of a pink winter coat, I've included some others I love that I've found online for you to have a look at.

Lots of love and pinkness as always,

Freds x

La vie en rose

"Hold me close, and hold me fast, the magic spell you cast, this is La Vie en Rose."

Inspired by the Edith Piaf song, L'oreal "declares its love to women", with it's new Collection Exclusive La Vie en Rose lipstick line. Iconic for encouraging girls and women to feel "worth it", L'oreal's new collection of pink lipsticks is a declaration to love, and inspired by all the feelings that come with it. Alluring, pretty, romantic, and playful, are all feelings associated with being in love, as well as being connotations of the colour pink itself. As a hopeless romantic, and a lover of pink, I just adore the whole concept of this collection. The idea that you can put on pink lipstick and feel flirty, fun and full of life, the same way you feel when falling in love.

As a big fan of L'oreal makeup, and an even bigger fan of pink (if you hadn't already noticed), you can only imagine my delight at the knowledge of L'oreal releasing a new line of exclusive velvet-matte pink lipsticks. There are five shades, all tailor made to different skin tones. My favourite is "Naomi's Tea Pink", (second from the left), a delicate mauve for fair skin tones.

I just love the whole campaign. As always, the campaign is fronted by the beautiful, influential, talented women of today, but this time with a special guest. The incredible John Legend covers the Edith Piaf tune dedicated to love and beauty. His beautiful music, his complete adoration for his wife Chrissy, and his love and respect for women, made him the perfect fit. I'll leave a link to the video at the bottom, it really is beautiful and inspires me so much! The campaign really spoke to me, and for a brand that is famous for celebrating confidence in women, to focus a collection on making a girl feel elegant, sophisticated and beautiful solely with the colour pink, made me so happy and excited.

I really do love being a girl. I love feeling pretty and feminine, and most of all the feeling of being loved by that special someone, and as I smooth on my lipstick I can't wait to go and kiss him with my pretty pink lips, because he makes me feel more beautiful and perfect than any lipstick ever could. But for those of you without that special someone, the perfect pink lipstick is a pretty good substitute :)

Much love and pinkness,

Freds
